So, I did not book early saver this time.

 

I booked that super saver or whatever it is and I thought a guarantee would be interesting.

Sometimes we book guarantees and the last two times we booked guarantee we had really nice upgrades.

 

Last week while the upgrade promotion was going on I kept checking for price drops on our upcoming Elation cruise, but the price was actually up from what we had paid.

 

This morning there is a huge price drop.

Well a huge percentage anyway.

It was down $60 a person for us.

I guess they got all the cancelled cruise folks booked last week.

 

When I checked this morning I did have a cabin assignment.

No upgrade for us this time.:(

We are down down down as far as you can go and next to what seems to be a crew area.

 

No upgrade, no obc.

Oh well, you live you learn.

 

But if you are looking for a last minute from New Orleans you might want to check it out.

There were also a couple of really cheap 1As, like $149, $169.

Update, just in case it helps someone.

 

Called a pvp (mine is out of the office so it was a pvp that I did not know)and was able to upgrade to an ocean view on empress from an inside on riveria for $30 for two people including tax.

 

I had booked Super Saver (never again) and at first she started telling me that I had booked Super Saver blah blah blah.

I said that I had read about the sale and had seen the letter that had been sent out and she upgraded me.

 

YMMV, but it could be worth a try.

Another update, I got my sister and her husband's cabin on that cruise moved up to empress too.

I had to talk to three people and I was nice and calm as they told me the reasons that I could not get it changed.

I just kind of said hmm a lot and then they fixed it up for me.

 

I guess the moral of the story is don't give up until you talk to at least three people.:)

 

There are still some cheap rates from New Orleans, but some have gone up since yesterday.
