Cellphone/Internet Service - Carnival Hawaii Cruises

Someone please tell me what the access is like for wireless and internet on the cruises to Hawaii. Is it necessary to turn off the data on phones, since you wouldn't be sailing in international waters? Any information is appreciated. Thanks :)

In and around the islands you should get your carrier signal - all will be fine to use your phone!

 

However when out to sea you will see "Cellular at Sea" as the carrier - that will cost you to call or use Data!! They will bill you for Data and Phone calls!

OK, so on open waters, I need to shut off my data until I actually dock in one of the Hawaiian Islands. Got it. That's exactly what I was wondering. Thanks.
