starfish216 Posted October 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2013 I am looking to book four balcony cabins for a Northbound Alaska Cruise for the summer of 2014. I don't want to sail roundtrip. What I noticed is that there are plenty of port side cabins available but none on the the starboard side. Normally when I book a cruise, mostly Caribbean, the side of the ship that the balcony cabin is on doesn't matter to me. Is there really more to see on the port side of the ship? Is that why they are gone. Even on Princess it's the same situation, mostly port side cabins are left. Thanks

bwest the man Posted October 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2013 Yes the Mainland is to the starboard side, that being said you are cruising while in the inside passage for a while and can see on both sides of the ship. We had an aft balcony this summer and it was ideal as you were able to see both sides of the ship with a much larger balcony.
