Hello

I left the ship this morning and wanted to do while fresh. see my daily reviews for what happened on ship during trip.

Embarkation and debarkation - You are met by butler who gets you checked in

Through. Concierge quickly. It took 30 minutes from meet to cabin. He also takes you on tour and explains YC functions. If one leaves YC you are escorted both as service so that questions can be handles. For me that meant having a ship wheelchair and butler took me everywhere. Disembarkation - the butler took me down, got my luggage and took me to taxi. There were quite a few off ship and I can see where the word chaos comes in. For me it was also but I had someone who spoke Italian. Chaos came from port staff and it really was just Culture and so would not use chaotic. Shore staff finally helped my butler. It is a long way walking to taxi and even longer if one on their own.

YC is truly a ship within a ship and the staff is very helpful. t looks to me that the concierges speak a minimum of 3 languages. they help you plan everything. There was a family with a stroller and each time they left the butler pushed the stroller. Topsail seems to have continental breakfast and snacks throughout the day which are tasty and refreshed often. Did not go to high tea.

Entertainment, announcements and daily program. Did not see any evening shows or participate in activities throughout the day. Activities seem to be one at a time and so I can see how some folks seem to think there is nothing. There is traditional bingo with 25.000 being the prize for full card in so many plays. I had to see dr. And liked him. Charge is 60 Euros and he gives you mess if you need. Also, if you see second time, no charge for either dr.or mess.

Announcements are in English, Italian, German, French, Spanish and Portegese.

Never heard in cabin except one after Genoa boarding and I guess there were lots of people going to life drill and maybe they thought we would have forgotten..

Ship, cabin and passengers. Ship is very clean and kept up throughout the trip. One evening we received a card stating that balconies were being cleaned and to keep our doors closed. hen I came back to ship my windows and deck had been cleaned.

Cabin was beautiful and restful colors. YC1 suite 16032 was a little larger thanks to CC boards. I have been in bigger but well thought out and functions of YC tended me not to worry about size.

Passengers were 1st Italians the most then German and French. Spanish was well represented. While British, Australian and US were in the. Minimum there were many and no matter where I was I always found people speaking English.

The staff speaks English. It seems there are verging degrees. My butler if I strayed from what he felt comfortable with he had trouble integrating and responding. Concierges spoke very good English.

Will continue later with food although I did not have a cold dish.

Hello

I forgot there was also a large Japanese population.

Food - First I never ate dinner as I was too tired. The Palmerie was very good for lunch. I had lunch at the Eately one day and particularly pasta with pesto was only a fine choice at 5.10 Euros. Yesterday we entered ship at stern. genoa a lot of people got on. The Maya is nice. A waiter helped me with my tray. Got water promptly. There are many choices and stations including a children's station which was cute. No food was cold. The turkey kabob was a little overlooked. One day at La Palermie I did not like the spice in one dish. Not bad but I did not like.

Shore excursions. I took 1 which seemed reasonable. Tour guide presented in French. I enjoyed.

My very daily note was that the YC was worth the money. I also feel that. I never found rude staff in or out of YC. All staff spoke some English some better and some worse. No matter where I was on ship (sea day was spent going around ship. I did not say anything about the spa but I used lots including acopuncture.

Would I take another MSC cruise and had already signed up on the Magnifica British Isles but am now questioning as YC is so relaxing.

I have cruised for years. CArnival, RCCL, Celebrity, Crystal. Princess and Holland, particularly Holland. How would I rate MSC to them. That is a difficult test. I think that MSC can keep up with both. While Holland's suites are bigger I think the European Service on MSC is more to my taste. Certain food is better and some worse. The pasta dishes far exceed Holland's on MSC.

As mentioned lots on these boards is to try MSC, keep an open mind and judge for yourself. There are some folks here have never tried MSC and want to give bad review. Others are fellow travelers who had helped me make the decision to try and the MSC staff in YC has a motto that if you need anything we are here to help. For me this included forgetting a mirror for make-up and I asked if they had a small mirror. My butler got me a very large mirror and apologized because it was not smaller. In previous suite experiences I would have had to settle for we do not have a small mirror. That is a cruise experience I will certainly remember with a smile.

Any questions, please ask.
