Carnival Sensation Wedding

Hi!

Soooooo, My husband and I were married on June 19 of 2011 and we are finally able to have a wedding and a honeymoon. We decided to do it on the Carnival Sensation on February 13, 2014 because of the convenience and the low cost. We chose this day to have our ceremony because we figured it would be fun to celebrate on the cruise on Valentines day ( and it's romantic too!) We are so excited as the days are quickly approaching.

I just wanted to post to see if there are any other Carnival Sensation (or any Carnival) brides out there?!? We are looking for any advise or recommendations you may have. We are sailing out of Port Canaveral, Fl. We plan to arrive the day before to stay at the Resort on Cocoa Beach with our wedding party. Any reviews on the places to eat while we're there the day before?

Our Theme is Nautical with the colors Navy Blue, Pink and Grey/Silver. I am currently in the process of making passport wedding programs and I have everything planned, prepared and ready to go just so i don't feel as stressed when Feb. gets here. I plan to give a full review after we come back from the cruise so look for it!

Again, any advise/recommendations/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Stay tuned.......;)

My Carnival Sensation Wedding experience was amazing! I had a lot of things that didn't go the way I wanted it to but it was all amazing in the end. I first bought the package with the 1.5 hour reception. After I had 70 people RSVP, I switched to the hour reception. Good thing I did because only half showed up causing me to lose about$650!!!!! :-( I would recommend to make sure the people who gave their RSVP info are still going before you turn in the guest list. ( carnival charges for any changes made after submission)

My hubby and I and the wedding party went to Port Canaveral the day before the wedding. We stayed at the Resort on Cocoa Beach! The suites were awesome! We had some trouble getting there and most of the wedding party got stuck in the rain storm. When most people arrived, We went to eat at the Florida's Fresh Grill. It was right around the corner from the hotel and the did was good. The staff was very friendly however the did was a little pricey. Next we went back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding day. We woke up around 7:30 but we should have woken up earlier because we were late arriving at the port. Wer were rushing to get make-up and hair done before we got to the port. Then I lost my keys do it took even longer to get there.

My husband and I didn't want to see each other so we stayed separate but he had my birth certificate. I had to board the cruise as a guest which had me panicking. Once I got to my room I was okay but half of my bridesmaids had not arrived yet. They were parking in a park and cruise and waiting for the shuttle to bring them to the ship. My husband took a shuttle which overheated! He had to wait for another shuttle to pick him up and once he arrived to the port he couldn't find my birth certificate!! I thought I wasn't going to be able to cruise but he found it. He was running so late that he and the groomsmen had to get dressed in the nearest restroom. Then I realized that I left out 2 year old sons suit at home! Luckily his cousin who is the same age and size was able to switch clothes with our son.

The bridesmaids finally made it, rushed to get ready and went to practice. Later the coordinator came to get me and we walked to the ceremony. The photographer took pictures while walking and when I was able to leave the room(we purchased the general size ruin and it was too crowded for pictures)

I had my ceremony in the Fantasia Lounge. When I hear the music I got really nervous. drinks Bouquet toss. It was so fun! I took pictures with almost everyone there and we danced the rest of the hour. After it was all done, my non sailing guest had to leave and the wedding party took a few more pictures.

The photographer was great and trust me, you will want all the pictures... z he met with its in the last n 29.99 for 8x10 which were posed shots and 9.99 for 5x7 which were just random shots of the ceremony and reception. We only bought 5 8x10 and 3 5x7 which came to a total of about $180. My advice... bring lots of money or pray your guest hook you up.. Luckily we had a friend with a nice camera take pictures as well..right behind the photographer.

After its all said and done, I think everything went well. We sailed to the Bahamas and had an awesome time!!!

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.. I will attach some pictures...

Congratulations on the wedding! Sorry you were out so much money for your guests not showing. We haven't sent out our invites yet but aren't expecting that many to show since we are from Wisconsin and leaving from New Orleans.
