jonesy111 Posted December 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2013 My daughter (15) and I would like to snorkel and hopefully see some turtles, does anyone know of a good spot for that? We do have our own gear if needed. Thanks.
kevincodner Posted December 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2013 If you are looking specifically for turtles, I would suggest Maho Beach on St John. It is a ways past Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay on the North shore, but right on the main road. The water is sandy bottom with sea grass, which tends to be 'turtle territory'. My family has been to the beach 5 times and never failed to see some turtles. Usually there are some sting rays as well and occasionally eagle rays. Otherwise the snorkeling is not much as it is grass and not coral.
Ms411 Posted December 12, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2013 There are also plenty of excursions that take you to turtle cove which is only accessible by boat. There's also a coral reef there so you'll see fish.
