Where to Snorkel?

We will be in St Maarten one day on our cruise and are looking for a place to snorkel. Is there a beach to go to or do we need to go on another sailing/boat excursion? I do not want to be on a beach where planes come in. Thanks

We took a taxi out to the small boat launch, and did the 5 minute journey across to Pinel Island. BEAUTIFUL, relaxing, and amazing snorkeling!

Creole Rock is the only great snorkeling that I have experienced. It was better in 2010 compared to 2012 but they may be in part to the great guide that we had on our first visit there.

Was it easy getting a taxi to take you back to the ship? How long did the taxi ride take and what was the cost? One more question....did you get bit by a mosquito??? Thanks for your help!!!
