Overnight in Jerusalem

Has anyone done the Thomson trip overnight in Jerusalem? Party of 4 going in October, trying to decide if to do Thomson tour or independent.

thomson do an overnight trip to jerusalem, the advantage is that thomsons pax will be the first to go thru the rather lengthy israeli immigration procedures and be off the ship early

 

diy is an option tho as the bus (from ashdod) is only €5 pp one way to jerusalem, but as independents you probably wont be off the ship much before about 10am

 

thomsons run a shuttle bus into ashdod town and the beach where you can get the bus

We did Bethlehem and Jerusalem last year from the Celebration. I wouldn't consider trying it independently unless you're an experienced traveller. Ours was a day trip from the port of Ashdod - busy day but worth every minute.
