Transportation from PTY to Colon for Cruise

We will be landing at Panama City (PTY) Airport at approximately 10 PM on Friday, April 18 for a cruise which leaves the following day on Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas.

 

We would like to arrange transportation directly to Colon that night once we land and stay overnight at a hotel near Colon. When contacting Royal Caribbean, they stated that transfers through the cruise line are only available the day of the cruise.

 

Does anyone know of the best method to travel to Colon from Panama City Airport after arriving on a night flight and the approximate cost?

There is a Radisson Hotel right next to the pier in Colon. It is very nice. They might be able to set up a transfer for you as well.

 

I would suggest arranging transfers in advance, and not just depending on getting a transfer at the airport when you arrive when you are tired, anxious, and will pay whatever. Here's a link that lists a number of transfer and cab services. You'll have to invest some time and send some emails to set something up.

 

Don't be tempted to wander around Colon: not safe. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel, Super 99 grocery store for those last minute essentials is right next door.
