Baltic cities: Norwegian Star vs. MSC Orchestra vs. Serenade o.t. Seas

We're currently looking into our vacation for next year, which will most likely be to the Baltic cities & Saint-Petersburg.

I was wondering how the Star compares to other ships I've found for this itinerary, such as the MSC Orchestra and Serenade of the Seas.

Specific questions about the Norwegian Star:

- we prefer to have an adult-only area, I read one side is a kids pool, the other adult pool. Is that correct?

- I noticed there's an indoor pool, that seems to be part of the Spa complex. Do you have to pay spa entrance to use the pool, or is there a separate fee to use the pool?

- how is the food and dining? Since most reviews I've read mentioned the buffet is ugly and not very good.

- how are the balcony cabins: are they roomy, and how is the view? Specifically interested in the mini-suite category, since it's not a lot more expensive than a balcony cabin.

- does the ship feel crowded, or is it calm?

- I noticed the ship is one of the older ships. Does it show?
