on st. Thomas did you ask the cab driver for a little tour or did he just take you to those points or did you specify the points. those pics with the ship in them look great!

If you go to Magen's Bay you automatically go up that road with those vantage points. On the way there, the driver just flew up the road and didn't slow down for us. We asked our driver on the way back if he could slow down to take a couple of pictures. We never got out of the cab, he just slowed down for us.

Loving the review & pics so far, looking forward to the rest. I'm leaving for San Juan in 10 days & I'm so excited, I cant wait. I'm not much of a Pina Colada drinker, but I can't see being at the birthplace & not ordering one. By any chance do you remember the price for 1?

Thanks

The price was very reasonable, I believe they were $7. The frozen mix that they have is non alcoholic, so they pour the rum in the glass first and then put the frozen mix on top and then you stir to mix it. Your probably getting about 2 shots in each drink from the look of the pour. I also heard they have amazing frozen mojitos there as well, but we didn't try them.

Great! Sounds god to me! Also, you said you woke up early to go to deck 7 to see the ship pulling into port...about what time did the ship normally pull into port? Those pics looked great!

St Thomas we pulled in at 7am, those pics were taken around 6:30am. The other ports we docked around 8. If you know where the secret deck is, go out there at night too. It's pitch black and on a clear night the stars look amazing. Oh yeah, St Maartin was 7am as well.

Where is the Kmart in St Thomas - you said you walked there?

If you go through the shopping area and walk towards the gondola ride, go past the gondola ride to the intersection with the Wendy's. Go right at that intersection and you will see it up the road a little on your left hand side. It's about a 8-10 min walk from the shopping area.

Loving your review so far!

I'm brand new to Carnival (Breeze booked for Jan 2015) so I'm loving all the great reviews I'm finding.

You are funny AND cute ;) so I'm officially IN! Can't wait for more! :)

Glad everyone is enjoying the review, having a loooong day at work today, so no posts tonight. I'll get back on it tomorrow night. In the meantime I'll be checking and can answer any questions if anyone has them.

I agree-- This review sucks, the guy writing it was a real grumpy jerk. ;)

We booked the "Magen's Bay Beach Getaway" through Carnival for $34 per person. We took an open-air bus and stopped at "Drake's Seat" on the way to Magen's Bay. They gave us a few minutes to take photos before continuing on to Magen's. It was a fun trip! :)

I am on the Valor June 22nd. Have a balcony on deck 7, forward and am looking forward to the Secret Deck. Were there chairs on this deck? Thank you for your great review. You are intensifying my anticipations.

I am on the same cruise! We have the starboard aft wrap on deck 7.

I don't know about loungers or deck chairs but I believe they have wooden benches on the secret deck.

Unfortunately there were no chairs, there are wooden benches though. I think chairs would be wasted as the railings are somewhat high and you wouldn't have a view if sitting down on the chairs (except at night when looking at the stars). We went out there for a few min during sail away and it was dead silent. Was like we were on a deserted ship. It was pretty cool.
