We will be in handicap accessible room 7138 on Wonder October 2015. Will be me, hubby and our then 5-year old daughter. Hubby can't stand or walk, although highly independent ! Anyone been in that room within the last couple of years and have any feedback and/or any updated pics? Most of the pics online are a bit dated. Thanks !!!

We were in 7136 on the Magic last week, and made friends with the people in 7138...so saw their room.

These cabins are at the far back of the ship so have the solid whitewall balcony. The balcony is larger than a standard cabin because of the curve of the ship, which also allows for wheelchair space on the balcony. The room is bigger than a standard room, again to allow for the chair.

What you lose--the bath is single with a roll in shower and shower seat (no tub, no split bath). There are plenty of grab bars at tub and toilet as well as an emergency call cord. The storage in the room is very limited--only one set of desk drawers, no sea chest, no center drawer on desk. It is a "sleeps 3" cabin with the big bed (which on the Wonder can be split) and the couch bed. On the Magic, our bed was lower than the new beds on the Fantasy and our luggage did not fit under the bed. However, the high bed wouldn't work in an HA room as it would be too high for easy transfer. On Wonder, could lift bed and slide suitcase under. No storage shelf in bathroom either.

We were also in 7136 on the Wonder several years ago. At that time, there was a water problem on the balcony (hope this has been fixed--no problem on Magic). On the Wonder, when they washed the decks above, the water fell into our balcony so that the floor was wet most of the time. Only the wheelchair ramp area was dry. Our host would bring a wetvac and clean it up, but the next day it would be wet again. Sorry, no experience with 7138 on the Wonder, and don't remember seeing it.
