akeogh Posted June 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2014 We are a family of 5, comprised of 2 adults, and the children's ages next summer will be DS (14), DD (11), and DD (9). We are looking at the Star Princess going one way to Alaska (Vancouver-Whittier) leaving June 27. We are used to all 5 of us in a balcony stateroom on the many Disney cruises we've taken. But the Star does not have a balcony suite for 5. I would like to hear from families that have cruised with 3 tween/teen children on the Star. Did you get the Family Suite (D105 or D106)? Did you get two larger connecting aft balconies like E727 and E729? Two midship connecting balconies? A balcony combined with an interior room? Which is the best configuration and location? Also, since it's Alaska one-way northbound, is there a preferred side (Port?)? And is it a bad idea to choose AFT balcony rooms due to the choppier seas and land-side scenery?
