Tips would be, in no particular order

1. Research the ports in advance using the ports of call section on here, tripadvisor and tourist info sites so you have an idea of what you want to do and how you're going to do it

2. leave beach towels at home, they provide them for beach and by the pool

3. Always read the dily Programme (delivered to your cabin the day before, often during dinner time). It is the only way to know what is going on when. If you're going to do ports on your own, take it with you to a. Remind you what time you need to be back onboard and b. you have the port agents details if something goes wrong

4. Take a carryon bag with you. Your main luggage has to go out the night before you leave the ship and you'll need something to hold the reminder of your things in until you get your case back in the baggage hall ashore

5. Have flick through the guest book in your cabin, it has lots of useful information in it

6. First few days on arid, you may wish to carry around the paper deck plan that will be in your cabin until you get to grips with the layout of sthe ship
