Eli's Eco Hiking Question

What kind of foot attire is needed for the hiking portion of Eli's Eco Tour? Will Teva hiking sandals work or do I need closed toe protection because of sharp rocks? I am hoping that I do not have to pack tennis shoes! Thanks!

The Teva's will work well, for both Hell's Gate and Bird Island. It's what I wear. Tried it in the flip flop style once; that wasn't a good choice :D
