cruisinlover1414 Posted August 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2014 We are going on the Navigator out of Galveston during Christmas week and have a large family (10 people total) going. We live in Texas, but are planning on driving to Galveston a day before. We have cruised out of Galveston before, but we have just parked at the port and not stayed a night before the cruise. Does anybody know of any hotels in Galveston that are somewhat reasonable that have a park-stay-cruise package? We will need 3 rooms..I'm just trying to find someplace that allows use to park for all 7 nights and possibly shuttles us to the cruise port or is walking distance to the port. Thanks in advance! Very excited about our cruise...never been on Navigator, only on the Triumph out of Galveston!

bptex Posted September 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2014 The only place you can really stay and walk to the port from is the Harbor House but their parking is expensive and of course so are the rooms The Hilton/San Luis has free parking and a reliable shuttle and I'm sure most of the others do as well. If you want to save some cash I'd recommend staying at Gaido's, the Commodore or one of the other "beach front" hotels and leave some cars there and use the other as a shuttle but park it at Galveston Park and Cruise. Those hotels are very reasonable in the off season and probably would love to have some cars there so they look busy. You can make it from the beach to the strand in a few minutes, even with two ships in port. Drop off a load of luggage, go back for passengers, go back for more passengers and park right next to the port. Then when you come back you can haul passengers back to their cars and everyone can load up their own luggage and hit the road.
