Yes you will see the life boats but it only blocks about six feet of view from the side of boat and besides how much looking down are you going to be doing.

Most people look out at the horizon and not at boats or other balconies.

It won't take you long to forget that they are there.

I Love Sailing. Thank you for your reply! Will be first time cruising for friend and wanted to be sure he would be able to enjoy the balcony. A You Tube video made me a bit nervous of choice.
