Lil_Bit Posted May 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2004 So... I get to go to Europe as part of my SO's company reward program. We start off in Munch, drive to Vienna and then drive to Prague. Here's where I need help... I have to pack for a week's worth of European vacation in 1 suitcase and 1 carry on... AND we have a FORMAL event in Vienna. The requested attire was black tie for men and ball gowns for women. What kind of "ball gown" can I pack that isn't going to be mangled after being shoved into a suitcase? We need a Holiday... my travel pics http://community.webshots.com/user/lynnemaynard
HollyB Posted May 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2004 I take formal ballgowns, and I mean "ballgowns" on cruises. Long haul flights, usually stuff in cases for at least 3 days pre cruise, and they are fine. Hang up in a steamed bathroom and if in hotel, send for pressing. Whats the problem? Vienna, very formal, ballgowns as in full ballgowns, will be the attire.
hstrybuf Posted May 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2004 Whatever type of ballgown you take, the big question is how to pack it to minimize the wrinkles. My personal preference is to cover it with a dry cleaner bag and then pack it very carefully. This doesn't guarantee no wrinkles so you may still have to send it out or hang it in a steamy bathroom depending on the material. Good luck and have a wonderful time!
