Dickenson Beach by taxi.. current recommendations?

Just planning our days in the Caribbean for when we leave on P&O Oceana on 2nd January 2015.

Basically we want beaches and nothing else :-)

 

I think I have narrowed it down to Dickinson Beach on Antigua.

 

There will be 4 of us using a taxi (around $10 ?) rather than £100 for the P&O trip.

Any current advice on using the taxis? (Or not using ??)

Any advice on Dickenson Beach?

Yes , went on November 11th.We got a taxi for $40

As you walked down the path to the beach, sat on sunbeds belonging to the restaurant/bar for the afternoon- it was very quiet.Had delicious rum punches and saved on hiring beds. A lovely beach with great facilities
