Midport shuttleat Everglades really faster than Park N Go?

I am concerned about disembarking Liberty of the Seas at Port Everglades in December after reading nightmare reviews. We've got two adults over 70 and 3 kids under 5. I was planning to dish out the extra $ for midport garage but then I read that we will have to wait on a shuttle for them too. Is the process of getting to Park N Go really that much slower when you factor that in?

The only need for the shuttle would be if you embark at one pier and disembark at another--usually involving Pier 29. Otherwise the midport garage will be an easy walk from your ship so one person can retrieve the vehicle and then pick up everyone else and your luggage outside of customs (just don't double park right in front of the exit doors).
