Gem - theme nights?

Question for anyone recently on Gem: do they have "theme nights"? I know the dress up or not part but was still kind of hoping for to theme nights (example - wear all white party).

Every NCL ship has the White Hot Party, although it is evolving into a Glow party, where you can wear either white or neon colors, ( but really, you can wear anything!) There are decade theme parties, too.. 70's, 80's.. Nobody was outrageously dressed for those, just use what you have. It really just meant that was the type of music playing for most of the evening..

 

A few pics from the Gem's White Hot party in Sept. The guy in the NCL tshirt is Nacho, the assistant CD. He was wonderful!

How do you know what themes (70s, 80s) they wil have? Don't you need to k ow before you leave so you can pack what you need for the theme?

It's not anything that requires packing. As I said, nobody really gets dressed up, it's more the theme of the evenings music. However, the white party is on every weekly NCL itinerary and most people do come prepared for that! It's a lot of fun, and the biggest party.
