me & my peeps Posted January 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2015 I had to cancel a booked cruise a year ago. I was refunded 50% of my deposit & was told that I have 2 years to "use or lose" the remaining deposit amount. My question is, can I "Gift" this to my daughter? I wanted to giver her something nice for her spring break in March & I thought that a 4-6 day cruise with her GF, would be perfect! Can I book a cruise in her/their names, using the credit I have with Carnival as payment/partial payment? I emailed my PVP but no reply yet. Im sure she will respond - im just being impatient! :D

me & my peeps Posted January 11, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) No, the credit must be used by the person in whose name the cancelled cruise was Can you go with her and friend? Hi Serene 56, I could - but then I would feel horrible for not taking the rest of the family. I was just looking to do something nice for her as, she's working 40+ hours a week & going to college full time as well & I wanted to give her some encouragement. Plus, she likes being independent, so I figured flying to the port would be a new experience for her too. I wish she would slow down & enjoy life a little. We've had many talks about her not having anything to prove. She gets it but, she's really focused on where she wants to be in 6 years & doesn't want to "let life get in the way". She has very little time for boys as "Dad, their just stupid. I dont have time for them in my life right now". I guess that I could have bigger problems. Like pregnancy, rehab, court dates... I have to give all the credit to my wife for her intense focus. It certainly wasn't me! Maybe I'm where she got the "boys are stupid" thing from! LOL Ill figure something out.....thanks! Legend Posted January 11, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2015 Yes you can transfer the money just call and ask Carnival for the 'transfer of credit form'. As long as you are the original credit card holder there is no problem.
me & my peeps Posted January 11, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted January 11, 2015 both girls are 21 or over? No, 19. I never even thought of that. Im sure there's a 21 minimum.... Because she's a good kid, I never looked at that as being a problem.
serene56 Posted January 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 11, 2015 You need to be 21 or over to sail without a parent unless some in the cabin is 25 or over It was a nice thought though
