Day Rooms in Fort Lauderdale?

Recommended Posts

We'll arrive back in Fort Lauderdale on a Saturday, December 19. Our flights aren't until 5 pm. Usually, we just rent a car and drive around, shopping and sightseeing. But for various reasons, we're thinking a day room at a hotel, from 9 am until 3 pm or so, would be a good option.

Does anyone know of hotels that offer reasonable rates for day rooms? Having a shuttle from the port and/or to the airport would be a great bonus.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Susan

Looking forward to an early Christmas on the Westerdam, December 12-19.

We had a similar question on a prior FLL cruise. We asked at our pre-cruise hotel if we could rent a day room upon our return. The hotel clerk said they did not do that, but offered to let us store our luggage that day and use the facilities if we wished. Since that hotel was on the marina and accessible to shopping by water taxi, this made for a very nice way to spend the time before our flight. Of course, we tipped nicely for this convenience.

I will not name the hotel out of discretion, but it is a national chain that frequently comes up as a pre-cruise choice for those who use Priceline. Perhaps that may offer some ideas for you.
