We are going to Singapore with our 2 little ones (age 4 & 2) on a cruise. We are looking for a hotel that will work well with sleeping for 4 people. Two queens or a king with a sofa bed. We are doing a Royal and I think they use Marina Bay port and would like to hotel not too far from the cruise port. Any suggestions would be helpfully :)

Also different subject, any suggestion what to do a full day with the little ones?

Thanks, Connie

Marina Bay Sand Hotel will add small bed for children if you request in advance. The room is pretty big size especially facing the Garden.

This is the closest hotel to the Cruise Terminal. But Singapore is such a small country that it is everything is close by.

Other hotels that you may want to check out, Orchard Hotel, Royal Plaza Hotel.

They are along Orchard Road and taking taxi to Cruise Terminal is easy from there.

Just got back from using Swissotel, The Stamford. The room we had was on floor 54 and we couldn't get a king size bed so had two double beds and there was lots of room! Stayed 3 nights and cost was minimal in a taxi from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre. If you go on line and join their hotel club you get free room upgrade. Great hotel, with heaps of room, fantastic views and good cheap eating in the mall under the hotel.

Nice. Glad you enjoyed it.

It is quite interesting for me, a local, to read this, because I have never stayed at the Fairmont before!

The breakfast at the Zoo is great, any early start but you could spend a morning there easily before it gets too hot. Breakfast includes seeing the elephants have their bath before breakfast and then the orangutans come down to have their breakfast too. Have done this 3 or 4 times when in Singapore and always lots of children there. Because you arrive in the cool early morning all the monkeys are awake and active as you walk through to the restaurant. Singapore zoo uses natural barriers so no cages or wire fences to be seen and it is so well laid out and cared for.

I'd opt for some time back by the pool in the afternoon if you are not used to the heat and humidity of Singapore or a trip over to Sentosa with beaches, theme parks and aquarium for the littlies.

I haven't traveled there with kids that young but there is a website called Singaporeforkids that would give you some indoor and outdoor ideas.

Hope you enjoy Singapore :)
