Annecj Posted January 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Do they enforce the age restriction on shore excursions. We are looking at one that says 10 years and over. Is this for insurance purposes and can a parent sign off on it?
FunX5 Posted January 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2015 I wonder about that as well!
bellabaloo Posted January 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) in my experience, rccl does enforce it. however, you can book directly with a private excursion where the age limits are not as strict. clawmachine Posted January 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2015 You won't be allowed to book an RC excursion for a person who doesn't qualify since their age is on the reservation. I strongly recommend just googling for another tour group on the island doing the same thing. Most times their age limit is much more liberal for the exact same activity and in our experience they are just as safe and much, much cheaper. clawmachine Posted January 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2015 For example, we plan to do Rhino Riders in St. Maarten with a private company. This company is cheaper, allows kids as young as 5 to ride, and has the 3-person boat we need. If we were to book it through RC, our 8 year old wouldn't be allowed to go since it says 10 and up, and there's no mention of any 3-person boats. Plus, it would be the exact same tour and almost $200 more through RC!
