Q about dining assignment

Hi. I am going on my first Disney cruise in 2 weeks. We have late seating dining and are wait listed for early seating. I called a while back and they said that we would most likely get moved to our preferred seating. How far in advance of sailing do they do official dining assignments?

Shoreside assigns you to main or late seating, but if they have not moved you by the time the info is sent to the ship they will note your desire to be moved. The ship does assignments 10-14 days before the cruise, but nothing is final until the second day of the cruise. If you find (on your KTTW card at boarding) that you have not been moved to main, go to "dining changes" at the location noted on the Welcome Aboard Navigator. It's usually in Royal Palace, but can vary. Ask if they can move you at that time. Usually it happens.
