QtbuggMom Posted March 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Hello, We have an excursion to Maya Key booked for our Carnival Dream cruise. I recently read a review that said there was garbage floating in the water, it sounded like lots of garbage . I'm travelling with my husband and 3 kids (12, 12 and 14). Should I be concerned? Anyone been to Maya Key recently who can let me know if this is a problem? Thanks!
CatgirlNC Posted March 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2015 I was just there last week (Thursday) and did not see any garbage. You and your kids will LOVE the animals! Have fun!

jacksmycat Posted March 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2015 It's been 3 years since we went but there wasn't any garbage. The reefs were beautiful with lots of fish, but we had one big problem. The reef was very close to the surface of the water. We weren't told this before we got in the water. My DH got cut up very badly and still has scars on his legs. I got a few slight nicks. Other people were coming out of the water bleeding and they had a guy at the pier with antiseptic and bandaids. Just tell your kids to be very careful and try not to touch the coral. It really stings and burns when it cuts you. I think it also kills the coral.
