Hows the Serenity Posted March 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2015 Hi All, After all your advice on staterooms etc, Ken and I have booked our first HAL cruise, 24 days Mediterannean Venice to Barcelona May 6, 2016. We are very excited about this cruise, we are doing a Scenic river cruise this year, so more northern Europe and the HAL one will give us a wonderful slice of the Med............as an Australian going to Europe is always a dream trip. Look forward to maybe meeting some of you onboard. Again many thanks for all the advice, no doubt I will be asking for more. Chris :)

We sailed the Med in 2007 with MSC, it was a dream come true. I used Cruise Critic back then to book some private tours that were recommended. I would love to hear about your Scenic River cruise as that is one on our bucket list, trying to decide between Scenic and APT, what made you choose Scenic and which River cruise did you choose? Best wishes to you.

Scenic just ticked all our boxes, all inclusive (we have only ever done a Silverseas cruise which was also pretty much all inclusive - except for the excursions), we will also be lucky enough to cruise on the new Scenic Opal being launched in April. The other biggy was the fact that it is Australian owned and operated. We are doing Budapest to Amsterdam 15 days departing July 22.......looking forward to this very much. Hope you get the opportunity to do your river cruise too. Chris :)
Rutheth Posted March 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2015 We did something similar last summer. 22 nights on the Noordam. They were a number of Australians on board. We had a great time [emoji2][emoji106]

We now venture further afield, after exhausting close to home ports and revel in the laid back lifestyle that cruising afords us. It certainly is the life. Happy cruising Chris:)
