THe Paramount Hotel or The Motif Hotel??

I just can't decide between theses two hotels. One is older and on Pine. The other is newly renovated and on 5th. The Motif boasts views of the sound from the room. It is about $50 more a night, but that doesn't concern me if the view is as nice as the hotel describes. Anyone having stayed at these hotels have any opinions or recommendations of one over the other?

The Motif (formerly a Red Lion) was remodeled a year or two ago and would be my choice.

Only half of the rooms at the Motif will have water views.

 

Not having been in the Motif post-renovation, I'll withhold commentary. I like the Paramount just fine.

We do have a room with a view held, but just wondering about location in comparison to the Paramount and the atmosphere of the hotel.

The Motif is around 3 blocks closer to the Pike Place market, a block or two closer to Westlake, has more restaurants etc. closer. I can't speak to the ambiance/atmosphere.
