Rum Point- Highlights?

Will be in GC 10/6 or 7 on the Valor. All I've read tells us to go to Rum Point for the day to be far from the madding crowd. Any tips on where the best place is at Rum Point to be somewhat secluded (there will be 6 of us), as well as to be within a reasonable distance from provisions (read: food and beer). Also, looking for everyone's vote as to best snorkeling location at Rum Point. Thanks.

I'm not sure how much of the beach area there is open for the public. The beach area in front of the restaurant is nice, but not very big at all. I would not describe it as private. It is very pretty there and there are chairs right by the water, food is right there and there are restrooms. If you are looking for a large beach with seclusion, this isn't it.

Read my thread called "Rum point-don't miss it". A lot of your questions will be answered. Also, I'd be happy to email you some pictures of Rum Point. Email me at smdbelskis@prodigy.net

Rum Point is a small beach, but doesn't get the crowds. The day we were there, there were 6 ships in Port and probably no more than 60 people at the beach. Once you see the pics, you'll understand. Because of it's distance from Georgetown and the requirement to rent a vehicle to get there limits the amount of people who go.
