Nightlife on Dawn

We are booking a cruise with friends for April and trying to decide between Norwegian Dawn and RCCL Liberty of the Seas. We are very interested in the nightlife offerings. We enjoy that RCCL has a wide range of offerings like acoustic guitar and piano music plus live bands in several venues. It's been a while since we have sailed NCL, so I am wondering what type of live music we will find there at night. Price is about the same. The pros for NCL are that New Orleans is closer to home, and we like the extra stop in Costa Maya. Would love to hear from someone who has been on both ships.
