Any recommendations for a good, local, reasonably priced lucnh restaurant in Copenhagen and Stockholm. Looking for local quisine. \

Thanks!

COPENHAGEN: If you want to add "fun" to your list of requirements and you don't insist on waiter service, head to Torvehallerne (Frederiksborggade 21) This place consists of two glass and steel market buildings filled with small stalls selling either raw ingredients or prepared food. Some of the stalls have space for a couple of tables on the spot. There are plenty of tables on the plaza ringing the market. I got a recommendation for fish meatballs from Danish Viking from the fish vendor's stall. During a food tour of Copenhagen today, we enjoyed smorrebrod (open faced sandwiches) from that stall. Loved the wedges of cheese from the stall showcasing cheese from the Arna dairy cooperatve. (There are two cheese vendors across the aisle from one another. ) Frankly, with the delicious food we ate at each of the stalls on the tour, i recommend you just walk in and order with confidence anything that looks appealing.

Del Mar in Stockholm, all the way. Located next door to the Abba Museum and Tivoli. Affordable and totally local.

Great -thank you!!

Del Mar seems to be a Spanish style restaurant, are you sure that this is where you were?

Also in general poor reviews:

Here is some lunch advise for Gamla Stan since it's likely that you will be in that area during lunch hours.

For traditional Swedish food, look at places like Under Kastanjen ("under the chestnut tree") or Magnus Ladulås (named after a Swedish king).

There is also a food wagon at Södermalmstorg (just south of Gamla stan) called Strömmingsvagnen which have specialized in serving herring with mashed potatoes.

Under Kastanken is located at a very small square called Brända Tomten.

Magnus Ladulås is located at Österlånggatan 26, one if the busiest streets in Gamla Stan.
