Pier upgrades?

A friend told me that you used to be able to pay to upgrade at the pier when embarking on a cruise (if cabins were available). He said that there was a minimal charge in order to do so. Is this still available, and is it often an option?

Thanks,

Dorie

Still an option, and varies each week with how full the ship is and how many cabins available.

Several ways to get a feel for your cruise, about a week before your cruise, check to see if there are alot of cabins available, suites on down, if there is, good chance there may be cabins when you check in (early....).

Also, can call the C & A desk acouple of days before your cruise, and that person can see the whole picture and the category you're interested in and tell you his "opinion" if there are alot available.
