fla_sunshine Posted January 16, 2016 #51 Share Posted January 16, 2016 One more possibility: After wearing acceptable, but not necessarily expensive clothing on the ship, consider DONATING the excess on arrival in Europe. I'm sure there must be organizations that would accept clothing donations for the less fortunate over there.
markarmel Posted January 16, 2016 #52 Share Posted January 16, 2016 Hi. In a few months we're going off on our 3rd European trip of 7 weeks having done one in 2011 and 2014. We have one suitcase each, a smallish backpack and carry on bag on each trip. Our mode of travel in nearly all cases once in Europe has been train, very reliable and no problems with luggage. One important point I can make is if you travel by train buy first class tickets which will give you more room for your luggage as you will find there will be far less people in your carriage. We have 5 weeks of travel (at least 10 train trips through Italy, france, switzerland, germany, netherlands) before we get to the ship in Amsterdam, book hotels close to your train station and you will be ok.
