CatherineM Posted February 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2016 We are interested in booking Bernard's tours for this summer. What happens if it rains? Will they still take us to the beaches?
jen&samcantwait Posted February 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2016 Yes. We used Bernard's a month ago. It started raining just as we got to Orient beach. Was a great opportunity to sit & have lunch while we waited for it to stop. Be warned though!!! It also started raining while we were headed back to port & seemed like that really affected traffic. We got back to the terminal 10 minutes after our ship posted return time & that made us PIER RUNNERS!!!!! Can't blame them for traffic or the weather, but if this is normal when it rains then they should have known & cut time at our stops. nyctravelerwithkids Posted February 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2016 We visited St. Maarten twice with the cruise ship. Both times it was raining when we exited the ship. It was pouring! Real tropical downpour! Both times we went on the scheduled tours. Both times the rain stopped the minutes we departed the port. The second time we had scheduled private tour with Bernard's. When we reached the meeting point we were soaking wet. :) But the tour was not cancelled. When we were 5 min from the port, the rain stopped. The driver explained to us that on St. Maarten the weather is different in different parts of the island. It can rain on the French side and be sunny on Dutch side. And even if it rains it doesn't last long.
