UK insurance recommendations

Can anyone recommend a well priced insurance policy for someone that has type 1 diabetes and recently been hospitalised for suspected diverticulitis, diagnosis pending.

 

Cover is for Caribbean and 16 days.

I think for the time being the answer is probably no, unfortunately. Insurance companies are leery of insuring any sort of undiagnosed condition. You might have to put off booking until at least the diagnosis is confirmed.

I would wait until you have had your diagnosis, and then see what the outcome is. My mother in law has this condition it is more about controlling it with diet etc. Insurance companies usually cover existing conditions if diagnosed 6 months previously, no changes in medication and there are no more tests to be done at a small extra cost.

I managed to get insurance for a cruise in 2013 which was 3.5 months after a heart bypass. It was more than 6 weeks after the op, which seemed to be their cut off point.

Last year just for a normal European holiday had more problems as I was awaiting tests for stomach pain and it's the under investigation bit they don't like.
