Sovereign of Seas & Atlantis

Recommended Posts

OK all you past Sovereign Sailors that have spent the day at Atlantis, please help! I've checked out their website and have a lay of the land (it's huge). I also ordered their brochure but it isn't very helpful - mainly photos, room choices and food plans. The website has much more detailed information.

I would appreciate any tips on how you spent the day there. I have a room booked at Comfort Suites (Atlantis privledges) on 10/26 since we will be in port 18 hours. Hubby and I are with with 2 kids ages 10 and 5. I'm not sure how to best divide our time.

I've heard the pools close at dusk and the waterpark lines get long by late morning. My plan is to eat on ship ASAP then head right over by taxi. I understand I should wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking. We'll take flip flops along for pool areas. I plan to take some snacks to keep food costs down. In between swimming we'll check out the aquariums. It sounds like the Dig area is open late so we could do that last. We will probably skip formal night (6 PM seating) but not sure yet.

It sounds as if towels are provided. Do we pick them up at the pools? What do you do with your valuables as room might not be ready when we get there? Many people said they just check in and out and don't use their hotel room. I had thought that we would keep the room so that we could shower and clean up after swimming.

For those of you curious about spending the day at Atlantis please look at the numerous threads under Bahama category.

Thanks in Advance!

PS We'll be on the 10/24 Sovereign sailing. Anyone out there going then??

Hi Pam. We are going on the same cruise! We already have a thread started for that sailing and there are others that have kids the same age as yours. Some are doing the same thing at Atlantis too. I just posted a roster for our group if you would like to look at it. Feel free to join in and I will add you name and info to the next roster. I think we will plan a little sail-away activity to meet everyone so take a look at our roll call thread at the following site:

Hi!

We went to Atlantis last week, but only went to the Casino and walked around a little outside and in the shops. We took the water taxi ($3 pp each way) and it was about a 10-15 minute walk to Atlantis. I think I would recommend a regular taxi. The water taxi will not leave until the boat is packed even if they say they are about to leave so hurry up and get on. Trust me, they will not leave until packed. :) Outside the hotel was gorgeous and we took lots of pictures. The water was clear and we saw many people snorkeling.
