I am on a RCCL Allure cruise May 8..... i have been to St Thomas before but have heard St John is stunning... best tour? beach? restaurant on the beach for lunch?

In my opinion the best tour to STJ is going on your own. Just taxi to the Red Hook ferry and it's a short ferry to Cruz Bay and a short taxi to a beach. Would recommend either Trunk or Cinnamon Bay. Transportation cost is about $52pp round trip. You can also opt for an island tour of STJ for about $25pp and get dropped at the beach, your total cost pp would be about $70 with the tour.

 

As far as nice lunches on the beach, we'd head back to Cruz Bay for lunch, we like the Beach Bar, or perhaps head back to Red Hook on STT within walking distance of the ferry. Fish Tales is pretty good overlooking the marina.

But Host Anne and others can give you more ideas on STJ - the beaches are indeed stunning, and the views from the north coast road are gorgeous - enjoy!

 

[EDIT] Another option is the Champagne Cat offered through the cruise line - nice day that!
