Off Cruise Wine Question.

We normally bring a few bottles of wine with us while cruising, no, it is not because we are that cheap, but the wine offered on most cruise ships is not as good as our Canadian wines. My question, 'Can we buy the odd bottle on shore excursions, and take them to our cabin?' The reasoning behind this question is one of weight, [not mine], but the airlines are getting tougher on how many pounds we can take in our 'carry ons'. I do not wish to discuss the merits of wines, but one person did suggest that I offer the wine waiter a couple of samples, at each ships wine tasting. Problem is it might take a long time before I got any favorable results. I am still glowing from our nine day wine festival. john
