What to do...in port noon to 10pm

This is our first visit to Barbados and we have been reading about the catamaran excursions that offer snorkeling with the turtles and over a shipwreck. We would really like to do something like this. However we don't arrive in port until noon, and the tours all seem to start at 10am. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, any ideas on what to do near the ship after dark?

Thanks! :)

Contact West Water Adventures if nothing else works out. It is not as fancy as the catamaran but we chose them to take us snorkeling and out to the sea turltes and we had the entire glass bottom boat to our selves. The cost was $35 each and there were 4 in our group. There were tons of beautuful fish at the shipwreck. Contact them in advance. It was a 15 mimute cab ride down to meet the boat and if you are in port until 10:00 P.M., then head to the Boat Yard once your through snorkeling. That is a beautiful place just 5 minutes from the ship and is also a favorite of the crew. $12 to get in and then they give you back $5 to spend at the bar or on food. The beach is wonderful and there are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas to enjoy. Use of all the water toys is included. They say the place really comes alive after dark but we had a blast there during the day. Click on the links, one is a picture of the Shamon II Glass Bottom boat coming in to pick us up and the other is a picture of the beach area at the boat Yard. Contact Monica at westwaterad@hotmail.com to book the boat, we really loved our day in Barbados.

I will definitely contact them, it sounds great. Was the water clear and calm for snorkeling? And your suggestion to check out the Boatyard seems like a good fit for us.

Did you by chance sail to Martinique also? We are still trying to find a private tour to take us around the island.

Thanks for your help!

The water was very clear but not so calm that morning. There was a storm moving in but we had a blast anyway. It settled back down for a nice calm afternoon at the boat Yard. We did not go to Martinique but I bet if you email them and let them know exactly what all you want to do while on the boat, they can design the tour to fit your needs. I wish I was going back there soon.
