Whales in FP in July

We'll be on the 12 night July 24th sailing on the TP from Honolulu to FP. I understand "THERE BE WHALES," (Couldn't resist that quote) and we plan to take the Dr. PooleTour. My question - do you see whales from the ship - while cruising? We've always seen alot of dolphins and flying fish and we lucky enough to see a whale once - but are hoping this might be more common on this itinerary. Anyone know? (Love these boards - you can learn so much from our members.) Thanks!

we were on TP this past July and we only saw whales with Dr. Poole and not from the ship.

We even got the opportunity to get in the water with the whales-it was an experience we will never forget!
