blondie99 Posted January 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Hello, I have posted on the disability board but wanted to post here in case someone has thoughts. I will be cruising with both my power chair and my manual chair. While I prefer to use my power chair, I can totally use my manual chair if accessible transportation is not available or to do cool things my power can't get to. I will be traveling with a caregiver and my mother, and they can transfer me and carry me and my manual chair a few steps to boats, locations etc. We have even pushed me through a rough path at Mayan Ruins. I'm looking for ideas for things to do like beaches, tours, activities and even things walking distance from the RCCL pier. I'm very adventurous and have done things like dolphins, sea lions, monkeys etc. Throw ideas out there! Thank you in advance! Jen
Ms411 Posted January 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2017 Magens and Secret Harbor beaches are wheelchair accessible. There are plenty of island tours thar can include a 1 1/2 hour stop at Magens. Some of the taxis can accommodate wheelchairs, but I have never seen a source that tells you where to find one. I guess a van would be the best option and there are plenty of taxi vans. The Kon Tiki boat excursion is very accessible, and I've seen a guest in a wheelchair on ghat tour. The guys on the boat carried her down to the beach.
