Car to mayan ruins

Was thinking of renting a car and touring the paved road around the island. Would also like to see some mayan ruins.Could anyone tell where some of the interesting ones are and how far of the beaten path they are.Also what is the admission to see them?? thank you

There is nly really one plae you can go to see ruins by hire car: San Gervasio.

 

They are about 20 min from downtown by car - head to the other side of the island on the 'transversal' road, then take a left after about 10min - there is a clear signpost. Another 10min down the paved access road and you are there.

 

They are definitely open and you can find more info here on the official Cozumel Park's website (although it's a little hard to read!): http://www.cozumelparks.com.mx/40_eng.html
