side trips off the POA in Hawaii

I uaually try to plan our own trips, rather than the ship trips. (there are too many people and it`s too expensive) I haven`t read much about trips we can schedule on our own. We don`t really want to rent a car. Any ideas?

A lot of times what "we" ask first off is what do you like to do?? That will send us in the right direction for the suggestions. i.e. Do you like shopping? Sight seeing? Adventure? How well do you get around? Do you have kids with you? Stuff like that. :)

Any particular reason why you don't want to rent a car? If you bargain hunt you might be able to get a compact car for around what you might spend in cab fair. With your own vehicle you will have an endless variety of options.

You should consider renting a car on the 2 islands you are overnight, then no worries about when you get back to ship. There is parking in Maui that i know of and i've heard in kaui also. We rented in Maui and went to lahaina, ocean aquarium, road to hana and the halaeakala crater at sunset. It was great
