Looking for suggestions for beaches in Mex Rivera ports. We'll be on Diamond next week. Would like to spend a day at the beach in PV and Mazatlan, also have half day in Cabo.
We are two families with young children, so looking for nice swimmable beach with calm waters. We don't mind taking a taxi to get to the beach/resort.
Thank you in advance.

You may be interested in checking out a resort in Mazatlan. It's called El Cid and is right on the beach. You can pay to use the facilites for the day and it's all inclusive (all food and drinks including alcohol). The price is $65 PP. Not sure about the price for kids. We did the time share thing so it was free for us. This place is so awesome! The resort is gorgeous, the food wonderful, the pools - well, only out of this world can describe them. There are water slides (a small one for the tots) and waterfalls you can sit under. The main pool is HUGE! There is a bridge you swim under and a swim up bar. They provide you with towels also. El Cid is about a 20 minute taxi from the pier ($10 each way). I HIGHLY recommend this for your day in Mazatlan. ~Christine

Thank you for your suggestion.
I can see there are 4 El Cid resorts in Mazatlan: El Cid Castilla Beach, El Cid Marina Beach, El Cid Granada Country Club, El Cid El Moro Beach. Which one are you referring to?
Thank you.

You are right and this was confusing to me at first too. Castilla and Moro and connected. This is where we were. They are right next to each other. ~Christine

We just got off the Diamond Princess, and went to beaches at all the ports. In Puerto Vallarta we went to a hotel a 10-minute walk from the ship that was open to Princess passengers with no fee. We got palapas on the beach, full service for drinks and food, use of pool, etc. We spent $62 for all day, including margaritas and nachos for 6 of us! I forget the name, but just ask on the ship what hotel they have an arrangement with. It was very nice. In Mazatlan, we took a cab to the Golden Zone, and went to Los Sabalos hotel. Same thing, palapas, food and drink service, etc. Great beach. In Cabo, we took a water taxi to the beach in front of the Hacienda Hotel, and got chaise lounges and umbrellas set up for $45 for 8 of us. We also had food and drink service.

We stayed all day at the Ed Cid also, but didn't pay a fee. If you want pool access, you would have to pay, but to me it wasn't worth the money because we prefer the beach anyway. They allow you to use their restrooms, and we ate at the open air restaurant. We sat under a palapa and drank margaritas, played with the kids on the beach, went parasailing - it was an awesome day!
