Holiday on the Grandeur

We are just back from nine wonderful days on the Grandeur. It was very easy to park and board at the port of Tampa with only 2 ships in port. My DH splurged on a GS for the four of us (DS 23 and 19) so it was a real treat! Staff was friendly and knew us by name before the end of the first cruise and we had a fabulous waiter, Tomas who made the trip extra special. The boys only complaint is that most of the young adults seemed to be couples and the Viking Lounge was not a great set up to mingle easily. We booked Soto's trip to Stringray City and snorkling - excellent day with perfect weather. In Cozumel we spent the day at Paradise Beach- the trip out seeing all the damage was sobering, though there is evidence that they are working really hard to rebuild. At Paradise Beach they took great care of us with good food, plentiful beer and perfect weather. Tendering went very quickly at Coz since they use huge tenders and even using the ship's tenders at Grand Cayman was not a big problem - one of the many advantages of a "smaller" ship. Anyone considering the Granduer can be assured of a great trip on a lovely ship.
