You can buy on site or on line, price is the same. Search for discounts online but usually they are offered for combo tickets with other attractions in the City of Art and Science http://

Also Valencia zoo (Biopark) is one of the best in Europe

We have only about 5 hours, with small kids, should we take only to the aquarium or the combine ticket?

If you spend 2 hrs in aquarium then combo makes sense. Everything is in walking distance. Otherwise can walk around the area, it's very modern. Also there are 2 shopping centers nearby if you want to eat, Saler south of aquarium and Aqua - north.
