Boarding with wine to take home after cruise

We are spending a couple of months in France next year and planning an NCL Transatlantic cruise to the USA and then flying home to Australia. On past trips to France we have always packed a few bottles of wine and some French cheeses to take back with us. Can we take these items in our suitcases when we board. If so, do we declare them and give them to someone from NCL to store until the end of our cruise?

Declare the wines when you board and have NCL hold them until end of cruise. You won't need to pay the $15/bt corkage.

Make sure you carry the wines in your carry ons not in your luggage a9or you'd have to go to the naughty room).

Last month we bought 3 bt wine and 1 bt grappa pre-cruise but had the hotel hold the bag for us as we were returning to same hotel post-cruise.

Last year we had 5 bts booze to take home from CPH, so we declared the box after the X-Ray at check-in. We got the box back when we stopped in Bermuda enroute, to take it home.

Cheers.
