anonmom Posted September 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2018 We're sailing on the Sun next month and we have the SDP. I have no interest in making dinner plans now for next month, so I'm not booking our speciality restaurants online. Should we book when we get onboard, or will we be ok just walking in, since it is a smaller ship? RaiderDuck Posted September 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2018 You should probably book now or at least right when boarding, as the popular times sell out in a hurry. You don't want to be stuck eating dinner at 8:45 PM and missing the shows.
anonmom Posted September 16, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted September 16, 2018 I went ahead and made 2 reservations for Cagney's and one for Moderno, just to make sure we've got something. We want to eat at Los Lobos, too, but apparently they don't take reservations? I'm hoping the Sun will be more laid back like the Jade. On the Getaway and the Escape, we made online reservations even for the MDRs, due to advice we got here, and it contributed to our peace of mind. But the Jade was our first cruise and the best one because we didn't need reservations for anything. We didn't have the SDP on that cruise, though, so we were dining in the MDRs most evenings, with breakfasts and lunches split between the buffet and the MDRs.
