Port of LA safe to park for a week?

We are driving up from Huntington Beach to the port of LA to cruise down the Mexican Riviera next week. Is it safe to leave our car parked there for a week? Has anyone done this before?

 

We have two children under 3, so we need our carseats just for the trip to and from San Pedro, but we won't need then while on board, so we are not sure what to do.

I was on the 4-night Paradise in November. Daughter parked her car at the Long Beach Harbor - no problem whatsoever. Don't worry about it. They DO have security there.:)

San Pedro is a great port to sail from. We spent a few days at Huntington Beach visiting our grandsons last year before our cruise from San Pedro. They will be meeting us at Disney World in Florida in two weeks. It is not easy having family 3,000 miles away, but it sure does make vacations fun.

We left our car there during our Jan. 7-14 cruise and it was still there when we returned, completely undisturbed. It does cost $12 a day to leave it there, so plan accordingly. Have a great time, we really enjoyed the Mexican Riviera.

The parking lot is fenced, with a gate attendant. We've parked there a number of times for the shorter cruises, no problem.

 

If you are concerened about the car seats being stolen, why not put them in the trunk for the week?

Most of the ports parking areas are pretty secure and are very safe.

I wasn't worried about the carseats being stolen; the reason I mentioned them was just in deciding whether or not to do Super Shuttle and bring the carseats or not. Sorry for the confusion.

 

We've decided to park there for sure.
